📷 Exterior Cameras & Noise Monitoring
Three exterior security cameras cover the driveway and front entry. A noise monitoring device is also in use, as required by City of Fort Lauderdale vacation rental ordinance — it measures decibel levels only and does not record audio. There are no cameras inside the home or in the pool area. Do not touch or tamper with any equipment. See House Rules → Security for details.

Waterfall & Heat Cannot Run Together. When the waterfall is on, the pool heater turns off. Use the waterfall sparingly. Only touch the waterfall valve — no other valves, piping, or equipment.

Turning On the Waterfall. The only lever that needs to be touched is the black handle located near the floor in the pool pump area. Please do not touch any other valves, piping, or equipment.

🔒 Security
Three exterior security cameras cover the front of the property — the driveway and entry — for the protection of our guests and our home. Exterior cameras are a widely recommended crime deterrent; the Fort Lauderdale Police Department partners with Ring's Neighbors network to encourage their use across the city. There are no cameras inside the home or in the pool area.
Hard-wired smoke detectors and a hard-wired carbon monoxide detector are installed throughout the home; smoke detectors are required by City of Fort Lauderdale vacation rental ordinance. A noise monitoring device is also required by ordinance — it is designed to measure decibel levels only and does not record audio or conversation.

No Tampering With Any Electronic System. Under no circumstances may any of the home's electronic systems be tampered with — this includes not only the exterior cameras, but also the WiFi router and network equipment, all smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, the noise monitoring device, and any other electronics required by the City of Fort Lauderdale. Any tampering with this equipment will result in a request to leave the premises, and the City of Fort Lauderdale will pursue you for a violation.

Do not touch, cover, remove, or tamper with any smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, or fire alarm device. Never remove them from the wall or ceiling. If there is a problem, call 911 immediately.

Service Animal Policy
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability.
Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not considered service animals under the ADA.
We reserve the right to ask two legally permitted questions: 1. Is the animal required because of a disability?2. What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?
We also reserve the right to request documentation of the animal's training or certification.
Service animals must be under the handler's control at all times, housebroken, and may not be left unattended on the property. The guest is fully liable for any damages caused by the animal.

To keep our home in pristine condition, it undergoes comprehensive professional preventative treatments for termites annually. Depending on the exact time of year, you may notice small, winged insects (often called "termite swarmers") briefly making an appearance inside.

A Natural Florida Event This is a completely normal, seasonal occurrence across Florida. It simply means the local ecosystem is active outside, and a few harmlessly find their way toward indoor light sources. It is entirely healthy and unrelated to the cleanliness of the home.

What to Do Because these insects are strictly attracted to light, standard seasonal treatments cannot completely stop them from popping in for a moment. There is no need for concern, and nothing further can be done chemically. For your convenience, a vacuum is available — the quickest way to clear them away.
